...You may not have heard that the usually lovely people behind all of this useful blogging environment are planning to data mine our data. It looks innocent enough, but can we be too careful? I've opted myself and the communities i manage out of the scheme. That's right... you have to opt out... or else you're automatically opted in. Like U.S. school kids and their military. Dodgy? You decide!

your ribbing isn't provocating me to more action. i don't work that way. besides, life is providing me with enough distraction without me having to look for it. i'm doing things... in my own way. checklists are being checked! seeds are being planted. steps up the mountain are being taken... a step at a time :) i WILL reap what i AM sowing!

i have much work to do. i did it about two hours today. maybe three. i might do more if my head stops hurting. looking for work is rather hard work. you will reap what you sow. no debate there!

well, this one wasn't particularly funny. i'm not going to put the rest of my life on hold for this work. it will become a tool for expressing every facet of myself... so i hope. i look forward to the extent of your humour :)

i'm looking forward to the weekend. it's a time where i can really get my head down in peace and quiet while everyone else goes out to partay. i'm a little sad like that. i've got so many more ideas to put down on paper. tomorrow i'm off to print a bunch of stuff off to appendix 'the plan'. i've done a bit of research here and there this week. looked through 50+ pages of google results for a start. i'm keen to look through another 50 this weekend. there are some gems to be found!

sorry for the venomous reply... it was the only one that came to mind. i hope you have some luck in your efforts! try and relax a bit to help reduce to headaches. you'll get something you'll enjoy soon enough!

oh godz. Why opt out? I don't see anything infringing here. Data that is not public will not be collected.

I mean, I guess what really bugs me is that we're obviously using somebody else's program on somebody else's servers to do something that we think is private. It's murky water; there are laws that try to delineated where we end and they begin, so I don't see infringement. Evidently my knee-jerk reaction is the opposite of everyone else's:

Everyone else: "WTF?! They're collecting data!"
Me: "Oh finally! They're analyzing data."

I guess i'm just being as stubborn spanner in the works... i'm aware it's no where near as dodgy as it sounds... but i'm doing it anyway :P I've no idea why... irrational, maybe... harmful?... doubtfully.

I'm not getting on with them anyway. Maybe that is the source of my belligerence? I've got an axe to grind :P
