...You may not have heard that the usually lovely people behind all of this useful blogging environment are planning to data mine our data. It looks innocent enough, but can we be too careful? I've opted myself and the communities i manage out of the scheme. That's right... you have to opt out... or else you're automatically opted in. Like U.S. school kids and their military. Dodgy? You decide!

Date: 2007-09-21 07:35 am (UTC)I mean, I guess what really bugs me is that we're obviously using somebody else's program on somebody else's servers to do something that we think is private. It's murky water; there are laws that try to delineated where we end and they begin, so I don't see infringement. Evidently my knee-jerk reaction is the opposite of everyone else's:
Everyone else: "WTF?! They're collecting data!"
Me: "Oh finally! They're analyzing data."
